Stoke took the lead through Jonathan Walters early on in the match after a mistake by David Luiz. However, he was left to do with a lot, but he maintained his composure to slot past Petr Cech. Didier Drogba, however, scored the equaliser just before half-time after latching on to a fantastic ball by Nicolas Anelka. However, it was the end of Chelsea’s attacking threat and the second half was filled entirely with Stoke’s chances, which they did not convert.
